About three months ago, I had a really frustrating experience at a shoe cleaner store. I brought in a pair of shoes that used to be pristine but had started looking a little shabby. I expected the store to clean them up, removing all the stains and dirt. However, when I got them back, I realized that it was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had.

One of my shoes, specifically the left one, was bleached and heavily discolored after the cleaning. When I asked the staff for an explanation, the employee tried to put the blame on me, claiming that the shoes had been in that condition when I brought them in. She even showed me pictures taken before the cleaning process, but I clearly remembered the condition of my shoes since I wore them daily. There was no way I wouldn’t have noticed such drastic discoloration before.

Frustrated, I decided to buy time and told them I would return the next day to figure out a solution. When I came back, my shoes were still in the same condition. At that point, I completely lost my calm and blew up at the staff, giving them a piece of my mind. I had wasted so much time traveling back and forth, and to make matters worse, they had the audacity to suggest I take back the shoes and wear them as they were—despite the fact that they now looked like two completely different shoes. I would have looked ridiculous wearing mismatched shoes!

Since they couldn’t bear my rage any longer, I threatened to destroy their reputation on social media. They finally agreed to buy the shoes from me at 50% of their retail value. Even though I got some compensation, I was still incredibly unsatisfied. I lost my shoes, 1 million VND, and wasted a lot of time. To top it all off, I left them a one-star review on Google and would not use their service in the future.
