Topic: Coin

1. Did you use coins as a child?

Yes, I did. When I was young, I often used small coins to buy snacks or toys. My parents would give me some as an allowance, and I enjoyed collecting them in a piggy bank. I still remember the thrill of smashing it open once it was full! Coins had a certain tactile appeal — it felt satisfying to hold a bunch of them in my hand.

2. Do you use coins in your daily life?

Not really. Coins have almost disappeared from my daily life. Nowadays, I prefer to use banknotes or digital payments, as coins are quite heavy and cumbersome to carry around. They also make a lot of noise, which can be a bit annoying. I think we’re slowly transitioning to a cashless society, so coins are less common now.

3. Is it convenient to use coins?

In my opinion, not at all. Coins are often a hassle. They’re quite heavy, take up space, and are easy to lose or spill. Plus, making a clinking noise in public can sometimes irritate people around me. I find it much more convenient to make payments through wire transfers or other digital methods.

4. Have you ever collected coins?

Yes, I used to be a bit of a coin hoarder! I’d amass coins from different currencies — Yen, Singapore coins, Australian coins. For me, they were interesting memorabilia, each reminding me of a place I’d visited or someone I met. Some of them even had pictures of famous landmarks, which made them more special.

5. Do you often carry coins with you?

No, I rarely carry coins nowadays. They’re bothersome to keep in my pocket since they can easily spill or get lost. Instead, I usually carry a lucky coin that was gifted to me by a close friend. It’s more of a keepsake than something I use for daily transactions.
